Reflection #2
This weekend, i have been visiting vienna with my brother. Our main goals, were to see Klimts and Schiele arts. I was really looking forward to see Klimt "Kiss", and I couldn't be more disapointed. The painting was beautiful, but the problem was a huge group of mostly asian people, with their cameras, taking selfies and photos. One thing was that all of those photos made no sense, cause the painting was covered with glass. But what made angry, was that people were coming there just to take a selfie. They didn't even looked at the painting with their own eyes, only through the camera. I blame the internet world, i got the feeling, that they were there not see the painting, but to show otheres that they were there. I think in our times, we do to many things just for a show. I started wondering, how many people, would be going to museums, if they werent able to post a "cool" photo on Instagram after it. It makes me sad, cause i think a lot of people have lost their sensivity for art and a lot of beautiful things surrounding us, sensivity stoped being important, unless you can get some attention with it in the internet.
It's been a month since your last post. Please get in the rythm of writing them regularly.
OdpowiedzUsuńI hope once the Asians took all their photos you managed to enjoy the painting. I remember last time I was in Paris I actually gave up on Mona Lisa because of the crowd in front of it. After all, there are other great works of art in the Louvre, which people usually just pass by indifferently, without giving them any attention.
Last week I saw something really simililar to what you are writting about. I saw a moment of some kind of a music awards ceremony and I couldn't see a single person, who didn't have a phone in front of itself. To be honest, I'm not that kind of person, so I don't understand it. I prefer by far to enjoy the situation "live", even if I can't show it to anyone later.
